If you aren’t familiar with Episcopal worship, it can seem complex at times. That’s okay—you will pick up the rhythm of the service as you participate.
Our services are typically composed of two parts: The Liturgy of the Word followed by Holy Eucharist. During the Liturgy of the Word, scripture is read from the Old and New Testaments of the Bible and clergy preach a relevant sermon, after which we pray together and greet one another in peace. The service then transitions into Holy Eucharist, an ancient prayer which we consider a living act of sacrifice and thanksgiving.
We have two services on Sunday mornings. Our 8:00 a.m. service uses traditional language, is typically spoken without music, and lasts around 40 minutes. Our 10:00 a.m. service adds choir and organ, and generally lasts an hour and 15 minutes.
Once you know the steps, our worship becomes a joyful weekly act of praise and worship.
